Evaluation of Treatment of Distal Tibia Fracture with an Intramedullary Interlocking Nail and Single Poller Screw
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction: Distal tibia fracture tends to angulate while using a standard intramedullary interlocking nail. By single Poller screw, the medullary cavity's functional diameter is reduced. This leads angulation correction and three-point fixations, which improve mechanical stability of nail-bone construct.
Aims: To assess radiological results nail poller screw in management adult distal fracture.
Methods: All patients with fractures age more than 18 years, treated nails at Nepalgunj Medical College between January 2022 April 2023 were included this prospective study. Radiological examination involved measuring sagittal coronal plane pre postoperatively, outcome was assessed Karlstorm- Olerud score. Ethical clearance obtained from Institutional Review Committee.
Results: Total 30 patients, 19 male 11 females mean 32.37 ± 11.02 (range 62 years) treated. Mean difference isthmus site statistically significant. There significant reduction after surgery maintained till union. united an average 17.60 2.25 weeks, 90% having good excellent results.
Conclusion: Using can greatly alleviate issue fragment for fracture.

Treatment of Diaphysio-Metaphyseal Fracture of Tibia by Intramedullary Nail in Combination with Poller Screw
It is known fact that proximal and distal fractures of tibia tend to angulate into varus when treated with intramedullary nails or functional braces. Proximal fractures of tibia tend to angulate into anterior bowing when fixed with nail when fibula is intact. Intramedullary nailing for metaphyseal tibial fractures with short proximal and distal fragment is associated with frontal and sagittal p...
متن کاملDistal third tibia fractures treated with interlocking intramedullary nail
The management of extraarticular fracture of the distal tibia remains controversial. Surgeons are not very keen on using intramedullary interlocking nail for these fractures because of diffi cult nail fi xation, wider medullary canal in the distal tibia and late angulation .The advent of newer nails with locking holes in the distal parts has made nailing possible even in cases of distal tibia f...
متن کامل[Distal tibia peri-implant fracture with an intramedullary nail: a case report].
Peri-implant fractures of the distal tibia after intramedullary nailing are rare. We present a case of a fracture of the distal tibia at the site of the distal interlocking screw. We found two cases reported in the world literature. There are no cases reported in the Spanish literature.
متن کاملDistal intramedullary nail interlocking: the flag and grid technique.
Distal interlocking in intramedullary nailing of long bone fractures accounts for a significant proportion of the total fluoroscopy and operative time. We describe a modification of the "perfect circles" freehand technique employing a metallic grid temporarily attached to the skin of the lateral surface of the femur or to the medial surface of the tibia that acts as a fixed "navigational" aid. ...
متن کاملDistal Humeral Fixation of an Intramedullary Nail Periprosthetic Fracture
Distal humeral periprosthetic fractures below intramedullary nail devices are complex and challenging to treat, in particular due to the osteopenic/porotic nature of bone found in these patients. Fixation is often difficult to satisfactorily achieve around the intramedullary device, whilst minimising soft tissue disruption. Descriptions of such cases in the current literature are very rare. We ...
